Phishing

What is it?

Phishing is a kind of Internet-fraud with a purpose of users’ identification data acquisition – logins, passwords, pin-codes, etc. This is achieved the following way: fraudsters create a Company’s corporate e-mail clone and make a mass mail out on behalf of a Company. These letters often contain a direct link to fake website, exteriorly undistinguishable from the original one, or request to send login, password or another kind of confidential information. Once visited such a website, a user can communicate valuable information to fraudsters, so his/her personal data can be accessed.

How to recognize it?

• It’s important to remember, that any event, e.g. Client Agreement modification or invitation to participate in some action, is always accompanied by mass mail distribution via MetaTrader and event advertisement publication on the website www.masterforex.org. In case you receive an e-mail with an invitation to receive some kind of bonus, please, check, if this event advertisement was published on the company’s website, and did you receive an identical news in MetaTrader.
• You should remember that MasterForex never requests its clients to provide such personal information as password and pin-code via e-mail. In case you receive informational letter from MasterForex, containing a link, check if it is correct. Usually, fraudsters use clients carelessness, for instance:

How to protect yourself?

— If you receive suspicious letter, please, immediately inform Client support department manager via one of communication means listed on the website. A suspicious letter has to be sent to support@masterforex.org for thorough analysis.

— If possible, check trader’s office address in your browser’s URL bar every time you connect. It must be as follows - https://cabinet.masterforex.org/;

— Do not answer letter that you consider suspicious;

— Never open suspicious files received via e-mail.

Computer viruses and keylogers

What is it?

Computer virus is a malicious software with an identifying feature of multiplication ability. During the multiplication process a virus can damage or destroy data on data storage devices.

Keylogger is a malicious software that allows to record all keys pressed on the keyboard, all passwords, logins, correspondence, etc. Also, this software is able to record all information on website addresses, visited by user, to save images of these websites and save clipboard content.

How to recognize it?

Antivirus software will help you, as it allows not only to locate a malicious software on your computer, but also to prevent computer virus infection. Nowadays, there are many types of antivirus software.

Virus or keylogger infection symptoms:

— Internet traffic increase;

— Computer works unstable (not responding) or too slowly;

— Some viruses create a great number of unnecessary files in different folders.

How to protect yourself?

It is rather easy to defend yourself from an infection — just obey the set of rules:

— Install and use antivirus software, keep your antivirus database up to date;

— Install and use a personal firewall (software preventing an outside access to the data on your computer). We recommend you to use software solutions of the leading companies, such as:

• Complex computer protection:  Norton Internet Security, Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0
• Antivirus protection:  Norton Antivirus, NOD32;
• Unauthorized access protection:  Agnitum Outpost, ZoneAlarm.

— Never open attached files, received from unfamiliar senders;

— During work in the Internet be cautious; install additional applications only from reliable developers.
