What is Forex?

The word Forex is created out of shortening two English words and putting them together into one word - Foreign Exchange. It is an International Currency Exchange. All the operations on the Forex market are made on the principle of free currency exchange, and the currency deals are outside state control. At the same time, all deals are brokered through the institutional systems of central, commercial and investment banks, brokers and dealers, pension funds, insurance companies, and transnational companies amongst others.
Forex is not a currency exchange with strict rules and opening times. Small conversions are expensive to manage, so they do not take place within this system. Financial intermediary instructions, such as banks and currency brokers, therefore help to bring about trading transactions on the Forex market.
