EUR/USD tried to overcome the phsycologically important level of $1.3300 before having returned to the middle of the afternoon range.

GBP fell down against USD and high risk currencies on Tuesday ahead of the UK Construction PMI release amid disappointing forecasts. That could rise concerns about the additional measures from Bank of England to support the slowing economy.

EUR/USD is under pressure after published Chinese and German economic data showed that world economy weakened, boosting demand on oasis currencies.

The New Zealand dollar was under pressure on Tuesday after New Zealand’s “AAA” rating was lowered by Fitch and Standard & Poor’s, both agencies having referred to the country’s high debt load. Finance Minister Bill English said it was his country’s hypersensitivity to the European debt crisis that motivated the downgrade.
